Loyalty and passion to maintain and improve the ‘local’ health capability has been demonstrated time and again, most recently by the direct community funding of approx. $750,000 for a much needed Emergency Department. The facility has since catered for more than 6000 incidents last year and is growing.
The 2008 Car Show was greatly supported by the business community through donation of goods/services and much needed cash contributions. Goods donated where utilised in our monster and for various event prizes.

We mention this "community quality" for several reasons. Economically our region is rapidly developing and does not yet properly cater for the impact of high population growth. This is compounded by a developing social support infrastructure which is also not well provisioned compared to many other more mature urban fringe locations.
DjHS is in a unique position to reach out and encourage those who are in a position to do so to take simple steps to assist and support others in need. It only takes a moment to mentally trade places to experience a glimpse of what it must be like when you are in need and have no one or no where to turn to. DjHS as the health service have to deal with the negative consequences when help and support are not available when needed. Youth health issues are of major concern for us and we must be proactive to help our next generation get through these challenging times as they are our future.
We are aware that you probably support other worthy causes and may feel hard pressed to extend your resources further. However, unlike others, perhaps we can encourage your participation by way of providing marketing exposure, promoting your business or cause through our region commencing the awareness campaign starting in September and culminating on the days of 3rd/4th February 2006 plus a post event wrap up.
We will provide direct letterbox, newspaper, poster, and website and radio exposure to all households in our catchment area – which equates to touching approx 100,000 people. We also offer access to the rally and car show in more direct ways through trade displays, show bags, prizes and presentation activities. We will be running a range of youth promotion activities such as bmx and skateboard competitions, car bonnet painting competitions, art competitions and more subdued events such as short story items – all themes geared around youth issues so they can express sentiments that may reach out to the rest of their community.
We already have great assistance from the service clubs, our staff and their families, and a range of local businesses that provide labour or product for free. We have a wonderful venue, Maddingley Park, which permits us to spread out amongst some glorious trees and lawns, with a large community built adventure playground.
What we need is for more funds to assist pay for those items necessary to make the event attractive for competitors and spectators to ensure we generate funds to deliver on the promise we make each year to those who will directly benefit from all of the proceeds.
As you have read, we want all everybody involved to benefit from doing what we can for each other. We ask that you decide to make us one of your most worthy cause and assist us financially. In return, apart from being there for you in time of health needs, we can let your community know that you were able and prepared to provide financial assistance to their local health service (if you wish that fact to be known) and in return they should support you.
